But these two aren't just cute faces in Christmas outfits. Mr Whippy and Halloumi shared a particularly special bond, and their story is one of resilience, trust and the difference that love can make.

Every illustration in our Christmas card collection is inspired by real guinea pigs from our herd, past and present. Hand illustrated by Kitty, each design captures something of the personalities and relationships that make our piggies so memorable. Our artwork is never AI generated.

The Story Behind Mr Whippy and Halloumi

Mr Whippy came to us needing a great deal of care. When we first took him in, he was living in a greenhouse during the beginning of a heatwave. He was frightened, extremely wary of people and in very poor condition.

At first, even the smallest movement could send him running for cover. It took time, patience and plenty of love to help him feel safe again.

Slowly, though, his personality began to shine through. The frightened little piggy who once bolted at the slightest movement became one of the most outgoing guinea pigs we have ever had. Eventually, he would be waiting at the front of the cage to greet us whenever we entered the room.

It was a wonderful transformation and a reminder of just how much confidence and trust can grow when a guinea pig is given the care and patience they need.

Mr Whippy also had a wonderfully unusual social life. He lived alongside other males, including Earl Grey, as well as females, sharing his space without the squabbling you might expect. There were plenty of silly guinea pig adventures along the way!

Then there was Halloumi, a little girl whose life began with its own challenges. Despite a noticeable curve in her spine associated with poor breeding, she never let it define her. She enjoyed happy times, plenty of affection and a life filled with love.

Halloumi and Mr Whippy shared a special bond, and their time together meant a great deal to us. Their story is a reminder that every guinea pig has their own personality, their own needs and their own capacity to form wonderful relationships.

Bringing them together as Mr and Mrs Claus felt like a lovely way to celebrate their connection. The festive outfits add a little fun, while the real story behind the illustration makes this card all the more meaningful.

Choose Your Christmas Card Type

This Christmas guinea pig card is available in two options, both priced at £3.50.

Regular Christmas Card

Our regular version is printed on quality 300gsm matt card, giving it a smooth finish and a sturdy feel.

The inside is fully printed with a festive design and a Christmas greeting, leaving space for you to write your own personal message.

Each regular card comes with a recycled brown paper envelope.

Seeded Christmas Card

Looking for a card that can have a second life after Christmas?

Our seeded version is printed on 200gsm Meadow Mix seeded paper, containing a mixture of wildflower and grass seeds. The seeds are visible throughout the paper, giving it a distinctive natural texture and appearance.

Once you've finished enjoying the card, you can plant the seeded paper according to its planting instructions. With the right conditions, the seeds have the chance to grow into flowers and grasses instead of the paper simply being thrown away.

The seeded version also comes with a recycled brown paper envelope.

Please note: The flowers and plants grown from the seeded paper are not intended as food for guinea pigs or other pets.

Two Free Christmas Gift Tags Included

Hand Illustrated by Kitty

Our Christmas card collection celebrates the guinea pigs who have been part of the Toffee Apple Pets herd, past and present.

Some designs feature individual piggies, while others bring together special pairs whose friendships and personalities inspired the artwork. Kitty uses their real appearances, individual quirks and stories as inspiration for each illustration.

Every design is hand illustrated by Kitty and is not AI generated.

Mr Whippy and Halloumi's card is particularly meaningful because it celebrates the bond between two guinea pigs who overcame difficult beginnings in their own ways. Their story is part of what makes this design special, even if the finished illustration is simply full of festive smiles.

It's a lovely choice for anyone who adores guinea pigs and appreciates the little stories behind the animals we share our lives with.
