Before we released our Pink Teapot Guinea Pig Bed, we created this original handmade prototype while developing the design. It allowed us to experiment with the shape, proportions and construction before perfecting the finished version.

During development, we originally set out to create a teapot with a rounded base. However, as we brought the design to life, the prototype naturally formed a squarer shape. We loved the finished look so much that it became the inspiration for the Teapot Bed we offer today.

Although this prototype is slightly smaller than our retail version, it offers the same cosy hideaway guinea pigs love and includes a removable 5-layer absorbent pee pad to help keep their favourite sleeping spot clean and dry.

There is only one available, and once it has found its forever home, it will never be made again.

The Original Teapot Bed Prototype

Every handmade design begins with an idea.

This Green Teapot Guinea Pig Bed is the original prototype that started the journey to our finished Teapot Bed collection.

Created in our workshop while testing the design, this prototype helped shape the product that many guinea pigs now enjoy. It represents an important part of our creative process and is a genuine one-off piece of Toffee Apple Pets history.

Rather than leaving it stored away, we'd love for it to become part of another guinea pig's home where it can be loved and enjoyed every day.

This handmade guinea pig bed has been carefully crafted using soft anti-pill fleece to create a cosy hideaway that provides comfort throughout the day.

Included 5-Layer Absorbent Pee Pad

Included with the bed is a removable 5-layer absorbent pee pad, designed to help keep your guinea pig's sleeping area cleaner, drier and fresher between washes.

The pee pad features:

• 2 outer layers of soft anti-pill fleece
• 2 absorbent U-Haul layers
• 1 premium Zorb absorbent core

Together, these layers provide excellent absorbency while remaining soft and comfortable for everyday use.

Keeping bedding dry helps improve everyday comfort while reducing dampness inside the sleeping area.

At the centre of the pee pad is premium Zorb, an advanced absorbent material trusted by small pet owners for its exceptional moisture management.

Combined with absorbent U-Haul layers and soft fleece, it helps:
